All of us in the NFE office are locals and for all of us we are in the Southampton Hospital catchment area. Without exception we like the hospital and are impressed with the care offered. Paediatrics, Oncology, Heat Wards, A&E – all good.

Recently my daughter was referred to the Paediatrics department for kidney surgery. The team were absolutely without exception brilliant. Not only was our in hospital experience amazing (play therapists, dog and even a pony visits on the ward) but our home care was excellent. Our stay continued over a weekend and we had a specialist consultant, who had come from Birmingham, to work on the children’s ward. Amazing.

Some of the team have had babies in the hospital and have only positive things to say.

The hospital is 17 miles from Lymington to the hospital.

There is usually good parking at the hospital but it does get full in morning and afternoon visiting hours.

Food options are ok with an M&S food shop, COSTA coffee, a restaurant area. Several times a week there are street vendors who come and serve lovely international food outside.

Whilst no one wants to go to hospital on holiday, Southampton is as good as it’s going to get.
